Under the auspices of the Mendocino Art Center, Michael McDonald served as the Associate Publisher of Mendocino Arts magazine, Mendocino County’s preeminent arts and culture magazine, from 2005 until 2020, when the magazine ceased publication due to the pandemic.

Overseeing a team including an editor, graphic designer, writers, advertising sales associates, and distributors, Michael chaired the editorial committee, wrote copy, contributed to the design, proofed and edited content, coordinated the printing, and ensured the accuracy and the quality of the publication.

Michael also served as an Editorial Advisor for Bruce Levene’s acclaimed art book, Dorr Bothwell: Straws in the Wind.
